Rich Moist Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Brownies and Chocolate Pavlova

...all of which I didn't make but enjoyed tasting!

This here is called Chocolate Pavlova. It has a super chocolatey-crunchy texture as the base topped with cream decked with chopped strawberries, black berries and chocolate curls.

Over the weekend, I decided to attend one of the many baking classes held at Cake Connection. This particular class will teach you 3 great chocolate recipes.

Besides the Chocolate Pavlova recipe, you will learn how to make a rich moist chocolate cake and chocolate brownies.

Let me tell you it's all chocolate sin in this class. The super friendly instructor Nancy, will you take you thru the ingredients needed, as well as demonstrate the steps of baking. She also imparts her baking wisdom by sharing useful tips and tricks when it comes to your oven and the baking process. This is a great class if you want to learn the basics of baking and frosting.

It's fun to watch and learn knowing that you're learning how NOT to underbake/overbake/burn/screw up your next chocolate baking adventure.

The useful information and techniques you learn will take you a long way in your baking adventures. For example, I learnt that some people will just never switch off their phones while in a class.

The moist chocolate cake is about to be spread with some ganache. The brownies were cut up in chunky squares, stacked up like a pyramid, decorated with strawberries and sprinkled with some vanilla bean dusting sugar for some excellent presentation.

All in all, I had a great time and am now in such a mood to try that moist chocolate cake. It was also in this same location (the cosy kitchen studio of CC) that I fell in love with five rockin' cupcakes.

Oh the best part about the get to take home samples of the cakes demonstrated. The pavlova was super awesome, the brownie was filled with walnuts and the moist chocolate cake is my dessert tonight!

Should have gone for the classes before I attempt the Pineapple Upside Down cake, which really left me upside down!
